Sony S600 deer picture

Been a while since I checked my cameras due to an illness in the family, but did get this picture on my Sony S600. I'm impressed with the quality and speed of the camera for trails. It's not as fast as the P41 but I can set the camera in the same locations for pictures.

Results of Nikon set for bobcats

Was disappointed that I never got my bobcat picture with the Nikon, but did get over 200 pictures of birds. The camera worked great using the remote flash but was a little too late to get the bobcat. They take around 3 weeks before coming back to the same area and the card was full before then.

Will try again in a different location when I start feeling better.

I did get some nice hawk pictures.

Daylight photo of coyote turning to leave

This coyote must have noticed the camera and turned to run just as the picture was taken. Another example of the coyotes habit of backtracking when startled.

Coyote study results

I Have always wondered, in what direction does a coyote run after the flash of the camera at night or during the day, or if it just continues on in the same direction.

I set several cameras up in the double picture mode in good locations for coyotes. The double picture mode leaves the camera on and takes a second picture after the first as soon as the camera is ready. It gives a quicker second picture, but still not fast enough to get the coyote, but I can still see the direction it left the area by comparing the leaves and ground cover movement on the second picture. It's rather quite easy to notice.

In almost every picture the coyote turned and ran back the way it came. Even if the coyote was over half way through the camera view, it still turned and backtracked.

I finally got pictures in the snow that show its tracks verify my study results.
